TERMS & REFUND POLICY — ON-SITE COURSES

1. Enrollment & Payment

To confirm your enrollment, a non-refundable $400 USD deposit is required. The remaining tuition balance is due two weeks prior to the course start date.
If payment is not received by this deadline, your space may be released to another student.

Students may also choose to complete the tuition in one payment at the time of enrollment.

2. Tuition & Refunds

  • The $400 USD deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • Tuition (minus the deposit and a 10% transfer fee on the remaining balance) is refundable up to 30 days before the course start date.

  • Refunds requested within 30 days of the start date are not guaranteed but may be applied as credit toward a future course at the discretion of Finca Tierra administration.

  • Refunds are processed within 7–30 business days.

  • We are not responsible for travel reimbursement or related expenses.

3. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover airfare, health, and other potential losses due to delays or cancellations.

4. Liability & Health

By enrolling, students acknowledge that the program takes place in an off-grid, rural environment. Activities may include moderate physical work such as planting, walking on uneven terrain, and the use of hand tools.
Students participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own health, safety, and medical insurance. Finca Tierra is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or loss of personal property.

5. Participant Conduct

To maintain a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment, participants are expected to act in a considerate manner toward instructors, staff, and fellow students.
Finca Tierra reserves the right to dismiss any participant whose behavior is disruptive or detrimental to the group. If a participant is dismissed under this clause, no refunds will be issued.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Any disputes will be resolved through mediation or the competent courts within the Costa Rican jurisdiction.
