Things to do

Finca Tierra is 1.5 miles from Cocles beach. If you take North from Cocles beach you will get to Puerto Viejo town in about 30 minute slow walk. Usually we go there for the night life and shopping! - From the bottom of our road, going south for 10 minutes walk you will find the surfing beach break. Next is Playa Chiquita beach with cristal clear water pools, great if you want to swim and snorkel. Followed by Punta Uva, clear emerald waters, next to a river where you can kayak and walk up to an espectacular view point. Arrecife beach is right next to Punta Uva, and it has the most pristine turquoise waters for snorkel and swim with shade from the jungle, feeling you are in paradise. At the end of Arrecife you will find Playa Grande, Manzanillo, right next to the Gandoca National Park, crossing a yellow/red river you will find amazing hidden beaches and little islands. A must see! From Finca Tierra to Manzanillo is a 3 hour beach walk. But you can also rent a bike right next to the entrance of our street, or take a bus.

There are several waterfalls in our region, but the most famous ones are in Bri Bri indigenous community.

Surf Lession

You can rent boards and get surf lessons at Beach Break in Cocles, but we must recommend using Surf the Jungle school. They give Finca Tierra students a discount and the teacher Misael Brown is a well known local surfer, good teacher with a kind heart, lots of patience and great surfing skills.

Snorkel / Kayak

At Punta Uva beach you will find Pacho, a local fun friend that rents the kayaks for a very reasonable price. You can kayak at the beach or the river, where you will see turtles, monkeys, birds and beautiful jungle canals.

Horse Back Riding

On Finca Tierras road you will find the best horse back ridding club, with well treated horses and good turist guides, to ride along the beach and into the jungle. Amazing experience!

Clypso Night

There are live reggae concerts almost every day in Puerto Viejo town. But if you want to listen to the local music Calypso, you will find a beautiful bar at Playa Chiquita 30 minute walk from Finca Tierra, where you can dance to real live calypso on Saturday nights!
